Photogallery about chess coaches seminar in Yerevan, Armenia. And also about my impressions on this country with its ancient history and famous hospitality.
The level of coaches in Armenia was decent. Several International Masters and Fide Masters. The country without good coaches wouldn't become two-time Olympic ChampionThe trainers seminar was held in the conference hall of Chess Academy. In 7 days we had 33 lessons of 45 minutes each. Depending on the theme classes were conducted in form of discussion, lectures or chess tests. To feel the spirit it's enough just to look at our faces.Grandmaster Arsen Agiazarian was also a lecturer on the seminar. In 1998 he was coach of Armenian Men's National Team and from 2000 became coach of Armenian Women's Team. In 2003 Armenian Women's Team was European Champion.Ararat is the national symbol of the 1991 Republic of Armenia. Mount Ararat is a snow-capped, dormant volcanic cone in Turkey. Its summit is located some 16 km west of the Iran and 32 km south of the Armenian border. The monastery of Geghard is a unique architectural construction, being partially carved out of the adjacent mountain, surrounded by cliffs. Monastery complex was founded in the 4th century by Gregory the Illuminator at the site of a sacred spring inside a cave.final examinationGrandmaster Smbat Lputian is admiring students of Chess Academy. The main hall can accomodate 400 players in one time. The Academy also has training rooms for many coaches, medical center, the room for parents, mini-hotel, cafeteria, gym, sauna.
